Can anyone please explain why there are characters like
GilGalad or Morwen in the film?

They're not part of LOTR. They're characters from the Silmarillion.

Why did they chose them end not Earendil or Beren or Luthien? Cirdan has a small part in Return of the King. Does anyone know if he'll be in the films?
