Alas, It's Legolas!

In response to your post, Ben, it is the official pic. of Legolas played by actor Orlando Bloom. Apparently the costume people have seen fit to give Legolas that "platinum blonde" rock-star look; even though we "Tolkien purists" know that Legolas was one of the "Sindar" Elves or "Grey Elves" (Elves of the Twilight) and that he was the son of Thranduil of Mirkwood (elven king who harassed Bilbo and co.);  and his hair coloring should be dark like most of his people. We also know that the real Legolas carried a bow (being a greatly skilled hunter of the forest), not a huge battle sword; which is what the Legolas in the picture is holding above his head, no doubt ready to "hack to pieces" an unsuspecting Orc!
