Bombadil Exclusion and PC?

I agree with Lawrence T. that Bombadil is an important part of the story. Heck, I think Bombadil is so amazing and wonderful I'd want him in the story even if he was nothing but a veritable speed bump on the ring company's road to Rivendell. My point though is really a question: What in the world does excluding Bombadil have to do with the "political correctness" Lawrence complains of? It seems anti-pc is so easy to yap on about without saying much and yet appear smart and, um, correct in one's thinking.
