The Scouring of the Shire

I thought Chris K's article was very good. I agreed on everything except for the Scouring of the Shire. I don't believe PJ would cut it out. It showed that no place was safe from evil. Also it showed how much the four hobbits changed.

Plus it's a big surprise. Imagine those who haven't read the books. They will think once the Hobbits get back home, they will live happily ever after.

Won't they have a big surprise? I believe one of the actors commented on that scene so it must still be in.
