Saruman was not shot by arrows after stabbing Grima. In the book, Saruman had his throat cut by Grima, who was then shot by the Hobbits bowmen. This happened as they were being ordered to leave Hobbiton. Also, Frodo stopped Sam from killing Saruman after an abortive attempt on his (Frodo's) life. To suggest the Hobbits would then put Saruman to death on a spiked wheel seems a macabre and ridiculous idea. Has someone out there been watching too many B grade horror movies?
