Violence, Running Time, and Other Matters
Leonides

Okay, guys, let me clear some things up:

1. These movies are going to be dark. VERY dark. From all the still we've seen I can't believe anyone could believe this is going to be a "Disneyesque" film. Not only that, have you seen any of Peter Jackson's movies? Trust me, any kiddies who go see these films are going to come away with nightmares. I guarantee it.

2. Jackson is shooting for a "hard" PG-13 rating. Trust me when I say the violence will not be lacking.

3. Just a brief note: I know that orcs get beheaded in the film, and I know that the Gondorian soldier's severed heads go flying over the walls of Minas Tirith.

4. Also, the running time for FotR has long been reported to be approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes -- 160 minutes of pure Middle-earth. TT and RotK will probably clock in at about 140 minutes each.
