In Response to Dean
Edmund C.

I differ with Dean. I think that the movies, as they are already doing, will give the books a big push. First of all, these books are already extremely well known. Hence, if somone sees the movie they will think, "Boy, I must read the book now!" (Especially after the Two Towers cliffhanger.) The books are so established in society the movies have no chance of eclipsing them.

Also, just look at what is happening now. It is wonderful! I have walked into Barnes and Noble to see a whole Tolkien table. Not just with TLotR, but with the Silmarillion, Farmer Giles of Ham, etc. The library near me just ordered another set of TLotR to answer the growing demand. He is getting his own second wind!
