Stainder's 'Blemishes'
Lughaidh
Just a couple of comments on the "Two Towers Blemishes" piece that came out:
*" Aragorn's scream.": Viggo broke his toe when he kicked the helmet. Jackson thought he was acting. When he found out what happened, he kept it in.
*" The 'laughing at near death' orc": I didn't see this as a blemish at all, nor do I think the method used to convey Aragorn's 'death' is any worse for having been used before.
*" The whole 'Aragorn is dead' sideplot": I thought this was well done. 'Death' and 'resurrection' issues are common in literature and I didn't find it out of place at all. Aragorn comes back a changed man with a renewed sense of purpose. I didn't notice any pi**ed off "real" fans during this episode.
*" Was it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to have one of the guards restraining Eomer at the beginning of the film to WALLOP HIM IN THE STOMACH?": Yes, it was. There was limited time in the film to demonstrate Wormtongue's hold over Theoden and Rohan otherwise. Another well-used vehicle in telling the story.
*" I may be incorrect on the following blemish, and if I am then please correct me.": You are incorrect. Read the appendices. Arwen goes to a deserted Cerin Amroth after some years, lays among the mallorn in the quiet, then dies. By remaining behind she chooses mortality.
