To Whom It May Concern:
Hi! I am, and have been, intensely interested
in the upcoming WingNut Films production of the "Lord of the Rings"
trilogy. Contacts at New Line Cinema, as well as Liz Mullinars Casting in
Darlinghurst, have directed me to your agency as a place to forward all casting
information and requests. I am sending to you my headshot and CV for your consideration.
I am aware that Peter Jackson is presently
casting the production and I have been unsuccessful in trying to track down a specific
location close to me where I might go to audition for him, i.e. Los Angeles, London, etc.
I do apologize for the tardiness of my request, as I have been led to understand that
casting is to be completed in April, and I ask for a review as a possible candidate for a
part and/or audition.
Please let me know if there are any forms I
need to fill out or any other procedures I need to follow to complete this request and
hopefully be added to your files and/or considered. I am not yet SAG or AFTRA, and am also
currently not represented by an agency. I have secured myself an application form for a
New Zealand Work Visa and am presently acquiring a passport. I am able and willing to fly
anywhere at anytime for an audition or interview, with sufficient notice. I have enclosed
a self-addressed, stamped envelope for your convenience, and please feel free to call me
if you have any questions. Thank you so much for taking this time to evaluate my request,
and I do hope to hear from you soon!
Sincerely,
Sara Taylor

Dear Sara,
Thank you very much for your letter and
interest in Lord of the Rings. Casting for this project is almost complete and
unfortunately it really is too late to audition.
Without an agent it is especially difficult
to be seen by us, which is probably why you have had a bit of trouble tracking us down. It
would probably not be worth you coming all the way to New Zealand to audition, although I
do appreciate you offering it as an option.
I will certainly keep your details on file
for future reference and projects. Once again, thank you for your interest and all the
best!
Kind Regards,
Liz Mullane
NZ Casting Director
How exciting to receive a reply from Liz Mullane! This might
give those of you who were considering auditioning a better idea of what it involved, and
those of you who received a reply from New Zealand a good similarity reference. |
