Liv's a Kiwi Princess

Liv Tyler is poised to become the next big thing in movies, and her major success could come from her latest role -- being filmed in New Zealand.

The sultry young American actress, whose movies include Stealing Beauty, That Thing You Do and Armageddon, plays the elf princess Arwen Undomiel in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. Filming finally started in Wellington this month.

Our exclusive photographs are the first peek of one of the elaborate sets for the $360-million movie -- a budget that ranks second only to the blockbuster Titanic.

The set has been under construction since early this year, and its location -- deep in the heart of the Waikato -- has been a closely guarded secret.

Gorgeous Liv, daughter of Aerosmith rock singer Steve Tyler, stars in the JR Tolkien fantasy classic alongside Elijah Wood and Oscar-nominated Australian actress Cate Blanchett.

It has been described as Liv's most testing role so far.
