Rings Fan Gets Big Suprise

A Lord of the Rings fan banned from entering one of the movie project's sets last week got an even bigger shock on Monday - but one she'd happily repeat. It was revealed last week that Auckland-based fan Erica Challis, who co runs an unofficial internet website on the $360 million project, was issued with a trespass notice to stop her visiting a film set at the Haywards Hill quarry in Wellington. In a quick about face by producers, on Monday Ms Challis was given an official three-hour tour of its Hobbiton set near Matamata. The stunned fan met director Peter Jackson and chatted to stars Elijah Wood, who plays Hobbit Frodo, and Scotland's Billy Boyd.
