Andrew caught a 5-minute report on Peter Jackson and the LOTR films last night on the late-night channel 3 national news program.

The news footage consisted of a gala dinner in which Jackson announced the launch of a new editing system he has setup. There was also some brief footage of the Helm's Deep set, as well as a few other locations.

The prime minister was also in attendance. According to Andrew, Jackson was to deliver a speech, but when he got up he said that he was so busy with Orcs, Hobbits, and Mordor that he did have time to come up with one.

He did discuss the new editing system he is implementing, though, and reportedly his speech took up most of the 5-minute segment.
