AFM Looks Flush With German Players

I've just included the segment of the article dealing with Lord of the Rings. The entire article is quite lengthy, but it is interesting nonetheless:

In addition to the domestic-available titles, foreign buyers will be kicking the tires on product from Miramax Intl. (“Birthday Girl,” “Spy Kids”), Summit (“Blair Witch Project 2,” “Chuck and Buck”), New Line Cinema (“Lord of the Rings,” “Love and Basketball”) and Intermedia Films (“Therese Raquin” with Kate Winslet, “The Wedding Planner” starring Jennifer Lopez).

The AFM runs 23 February - 1 March. "A record-setting number of exhibitors, screenings and Sundance Film Festival entries mark new highs in growth as the American Film Market celebrates its 20th year. The annual event, which takes place at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in California, will attract over 7,000 industry professionals from 70 countries including film and TV distributors, agents, attorneys, producers, directors, trade groups, film festival programmers and film commissioners."

Also, Essex Boys, which is a Sean Bean flick that will be released later this year, is being exhibited at the AFM as well:
