Elrond & Eowyn Casting Confirmed

The casting of Eowyn and Elrond has been confirmed by E! Online. Hugo Weaving got the part of Elrond and Mirando Otto will play Eowyn. Images of both of these actors, as well as short bios, will be available shortly.

According to Weaving's IMDB entry his best-known role was in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. He more recently starred as Agent Smith in the smash sci-fi flick The Matrix.

Upon studying Mirando Otto's entry,  I discovered that Miranda does not have quite as much acting experience as Weaving, but has starred in several films, including The Thin Red Line and True Love and Chaos.

E! Online is also reporting that Christopher Lee (Saruman), Sir Ian Holm (Bilbo Baggins), and Brad Dourif (Wormtongue) have arrived in New Zealand.
