Scottish Hobbits?

Hobbits Hit the Tattoo

Three Hobbits stars from The Lord of the Rings turned up at the Edinburgh  Military Tattoo last night. Dominic Monaghan, who plays Merry, Billy Boyd (Pippin) and Elijah Wood (Frodo) were spotted sporting kilts. Boyd, also wearing a sporran, is from Glasgow.

The three, and actor Sean Austin who plays Sam Gamgee, also appeared dressed as Hobbits in the April edition of American magazine Vanity Fair. The photograph was taken in Hamilton in January.

The $360 million film project, directed by Peter Jackson, has confirmed Shortland Street star Martin Csokas will play Cate Blanchett's screen husband Celeborn, and elf lord. Blanchett takes the role of Galadriel.
