More Composer Speculation
Matthew Bass

A few more tidbits have arrived. Firsly, Cirdan told me that the music in the trailer was from the movie Come See the Paradise. The track on the soundtrack CD is called "Fire in Brookly Theatre." Listen to it here.

Secondly, Angela dropped me a line with some information she found on a newsgroup. For what it's worth, here it is:

The music used in the trailer is Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. It is a standard used by all "epic" films in the early promotion stage. Peter Jackson has publicly stated that the actual LOTR score will have a very Celtic feel to it. That seems much more appropriate in my opinion.

She also mentioned that it doesn't necessarily follow that the composer of the preview music will compose the soundtrack for the LOTR trilogy.
