New Line Commits 10 Films For Advance Screenings
Press Release

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2000-- YouthStream Media Networks (NASDAQ: NETS - news), an integrated media and marketing services company targeting teens and young adults, today announces a partnership with New Line Cinema in which YouthStream's Network Event Theater division (NET) will premiere 10 future New Line releases on college campuses across the country.

Utilizing its theater network on nearly 80 campuses, including many of the largest colleges and universities in the country, YouthStream will advance screen ten New Line releases over an 18-month period. New Line's slate of upcoming films includes Adam Sandler's Little Nicky, Thirteen Days, starring Kevin Costner, and the highly-anticipated The Lord of the Rings.

In addition to screening its films on campuses, New Line will promote the films to students using YouthStream's integrated on-campus media properties, which include the country's leading college newspaper advertising service, the country's leading campus postering service, and the largest network of on-campus wallboards. YouthStream will also provide New Line with online advertising and promotion on sixdegrees and Teen.com, YouthStream's online communities.

Founded in 1995, NET's advance screenings are located and promoted on campuses with a total combined enrollment exceeding well over one million students. With such broad reach, NET provides film studios with a cost effective, one-stop solution for marketing to college audiences across the country. YouthStream's business model is to generate revenue from two sources, movie studios and advertising sponsors. Fees paid by movie studios cover the variable costs associated with each screening. Revenue generated by sponsors contributes to fixed costs and profits.

``We are thrilled to have locked in our first long-term, multi-film commitment with a major movie studio. It represents another concrete step toward YouthStream's profitable growth,'' said James ``P.T.'' Lucchesi, President and CEO of YouthStream. ``By locking in a multi-film deal, our sales force has the necessary lead time with which to pre-sell sponsorships and to match sponsors with appropriate film titles. Thus we can dramatically increase our revenue per event without increasing costs. We look forward to signing more deals of this nature during the months ahead.''

New Line had previously engaged Network Event Theater to advance screen Boiler Room and Frequency last winter, prior to the general theatrical release of those films. ``No one can access the young adult market like YouthStream,'' said Elissa Greer, Senior Vice President, Publicity and Promotion, New Line Cinema. ``Our past partnership with YouthStream was incredibly effective and we are looking forward to working with them on this multi-picture arrangement.''

In addition to New Line, Network Event Theater also works with Warner Bros., Universal Studios, Disney, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and other major studios.
