No Elf Ears on Ancanar Set?

I received word today via Cyphany that a friend who was on the Ancanar set had something interesting to report. Allegedly, there were some big Elven warriors there WITHOUT big pointy ears! I know Tolkien never mentioned the modernized D&D Elf ears (the ridiculously huge ones), and this is a touchy subject with some fans. Perhaps someone involve with the Ancanar production would like to make a statement regarding this? I'd be happy to post it here.
