Lord of the Rings Fans Form Film Preview Lines

The Tolkien Guild Sponsors Los Angeles, New York Lines

PASADENA, CA (January 9, 2001) - The Tolkien Guild, a united group of
websites and societies with a common interest in the works of author
J.R.R. Tolkien and his immensely popular literary achievement The Lord
of the Rings, announced today that it will sponsor its first event:
sponsoring fan lines at movie theaters showing the Lord of the Rings
trailer to be released with New Line Cinema's film Thirteen Days on
January 12, 2001.

The Tolkien Guild, on the Internet at http://www.tolkienguild.org, is
providing an online forum for fans all over the world to form their own
lines at movie theaters in anticipation of The Lord of the Rings
trailer, as well as hosting the primary lines in Los Angeles and New
York.  The first film in New Line Cinema's The Lord of the Rings
trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring, will appear at theaters nationwide
December 19, 2001.

The Los Angeles line will be hosted by the AMC Burbank 14 beginning at
Friday morning at 12:00 AM for fans awaiting the first showing of
Thirteen Days at 12:30 PM.

The New York line will be hosted by the Sony Theatres Lincoln Square at
Broadway & 68th beginning Thursday night at 10:30 PM for the first
showing of Thirteen Days on Friday morning at 10:30 AM.

People joining the Tolkien Guild preview lines will be given a free
limited edition Tolkien Guild T-shirt and chances to win other
Tolkien-related merchandise.
