Liv Tyler Engaged to a Spacehog

Liv Tyler's got a thing for rock stars. It's enough to make any spandex-wearing father proud.

The 23-year-old actress and star of Armageddon and the upcoming One Night at McCool's has become engaged to Royston Langdon, frontman-guitarist for the Brit rock outfit Spacehog, according to British tabloid reports and FoxNews.com.

Tyler's rep didn't immediately return a call for comment, but Langdon reportedly popped the question on Valentine's Day.

The pending nuptials could make any second-rate wedding band nervous. The pouty-lipped brunette is the daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and Bebe Buell, the former Playboy pinup who had an eight-month romance with the Boston rocker while she was still living with musician Todd Rundgren in the '70s.

Tyler and Langdon have been an item since 1998, not long after she split up with her former Inventing the Abbotts costar (and current Oscar nominee) Joaquin Phoenix.

The Leeds-born Royston and his brother, Antony, formed Spacehog in 1994 and established themselves in New York before scoring a mid-'90s radio hit with their single, "In the Meantime." In 1998, the group released The Chinese Album, an ambient glam-rock disc that received critical raves, but didn't exactly burn up the charts.

Tyler, meanwhile, has successfully jumped out of her dad's shadow, moving from modeling to the big screen with films such as That Thing You Do (in which she fell for a rock star, no less) and Robert Altman's past two efforts, Cookie's Fortune and Dr. T and the Women. She just finished filming the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

As for the parents, Buell told the Daily Star, "We are thrilled. The families spent time together and we get along very well."

If not, Langdon and his future father-in-law will just have to do their venting onstage.
