Fair 2001 Rings Toys Playmates Toys Animatronic Banks: Three animatronic banks which will move and play sounds when you deposit a coin or press a button, based on characters in The Fellowship of the Ring. Intelligame: Special playing cards which can be swiped through a reader on the game board. After you swipe your card on your turn, Intelligame will let you know how far to move your game piece. As the game progresses, sections of the game board unfold to reveal the next leg of the game's journey. Intelliblox Building Block Sets: A cross between the Simpsons action figures and Lego® building blocks. There will be several sets which you can build using the blocks, and there will be 41 small figures that go with the sets. Each figure is mounted on a block so that it can be snapped into the sets. The block attached to each figure has a chip in it, so that the set knows which figure is placed where and which sound clip to play: this also allows two or more figures to "interact" with each other. Toy Biz 6" Action Figures: Sculpted using the Real Scan process: actors were scanned (while in full makeup and costumes) to create the most realistic sculpts possible. These figures are on a 6" scale, meaning that one foot of character height equals one inch of action figure height. Obviously, some figures will be taller than others, and to keep the value even across the line, Toy Biz is packing extras in with the smaller characters' figures. Each action figure will come with a section of a diagram: if you collect every section, you can assemble a map of Middle Earth. These figures are due out in stores on July 1, 2001, and will retail for about $5.99 USD. Assortment One:
Assortment Two:
Action Figure Twin Packs: Features the same scale action figures as the regular assortments, but each 2-pack features a special action feature. For example, you will be able to look into Galadriel's Well and see scenes. The 2-packs are also due out in July 2001:
The Horses in this assortment are articulated and have special features: Ringwraith with Horse - pulling on the reins results in the horse's eyes lighting up and its mouth contorting into a snarl to reveal its teeth. If you press the buttons on the hind legs, the front legs have a galloping motion. Arwen with Asfaloth - Arwen wears the Evenstar Pendant, with will light up when pressed. This set comes with a Frodo figure which changes color to recreate the poisoning scene from the film. Asfaloth the horse features a galloping motion on its front legs when buttons on the hind legs are pressed. The Horse Assortment is due out in July 2001, and will retail for about $14.99 each. Electronic Cave Troll: He'll be 10" tall (in scale with the 6" action figures) and has sounds in addition to his action features. The Cave Troll will sell for about $19.99, and is due in stores in November 2001. Collector Series Action Figures: The Collector Series figures range from 9" to 12" tall, depending on the height of the character depicted. Each figure's outfit uses the same kind of cloth found in the outfits in the movie. The figures feature 30 points of articulation, and in an exciting twist for Famous Covers collectors, the 9" figures appear to use the Famous Covers bodies. The characters scheduled to be made in this format are:
The first three are due out in July 2001, with the other three following in September. All will retail for around $19.99 USD.
