Bakshi's Masterpiece Released on DVD

Chris S. sent me the following "mini review" of the DVD yesterday:

I just received a copy of the Bakshi DVD...in WIDESCREEN format! So I guess the petition against pan-and-scan worked.

I haven't viewed it yet. Two notes though:

With typical sloppiness, Boromir's name is mis-spelled as "Borimir" in the scene index.

This presentation ends with the battle of Helm's Deep. When the movie was originally released, it ended on the less high-powered but more moving scene of Frod and Sam following Gollum into the gloom of Mordor.
