Ethereal vocalists Enya and Cocteau Twins' Elisabeth Fraser
are both featured on the upcoming soundtrack to "The Lord of the Rings: The
Fellowship of the Ring," due Nov. 20 from Reprise. While the majority of the
soundtrack is comprised of score by Howard Shore ("The Cell," "Nobody's
Fool"), Enya appears on two tracks ("May it Be," "Airon (Theme from
Aragorn and Arwen") and Fraser on one ("Gandalf's Lament").
"May It Be" will be released as a single to U.S. radio outlets later this month.
A companion music video featuring Enya and footage from the film will be released to video
outlets.
The soundtrack appearance comes on the heels of Enya's success with her latest Reprise
album, "A Day Without Rain," which is currently No. 3 on The Billboard 200.
First single "Only Time" is No. 4 on Billboard's Adult Top 40 Tracks and Adult
Contemporary charts, and No. 16 on The Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, the artist's
collection "Paint the Sky With Stars - The Best of Enya" is No. 2 in its 82nd
week on Billboard's Top Pop Catalog chart.
Starring Elijah Wood and Liv Tyler, "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the
Ring" opens Dec. 19 in U.S. theaters.
