News From Around the Web
Matthew Bass

Yes, it's time for another great edition of my "News From Around the Web" recap. The big news right now is that most of the images on TolkienMovies.com are down right now! I hope to have this resolved soon.

For now, on with the goodies.

  • Exciting developments rom the LotR TV front! Fox will be airing "Quest for the Ring" on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 8 p.m. It is a one-hour "making of" featurette. (Source: Movies.com)
  • What is being called "an unauthorized tribute" to Tolkien has made its way onto DVD. Click here for the details. This looks to be a basic documentary of Tolkien's life and works, although it is supposed to include interviews with his family. I don't like the "unauthorized" part, though. The video quality is probably crap for just $8.95.
  • New Line's studio store has the official LotR theater posters available for purchase. You can even purchase both together for just $24.95, which is a real steal for these beauties. Click on over and check it out.
  • TheOneRing.net has a scan from a Wellington newspaper. The article has some info on who will be attending the FotR premiere, which is scheduled to take place in Wellington on December 19th.
  • The official movie site has several new character desktops posted, including Pippin, Merry, Sam, Frodo, Gandalf, and Boromir!
  • Enya.org is reporting that Enya will be singing in Sindarin for parts of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. Might be cool, we'll have to see.

That's all for now. Get ready for more soon! The news is really starting to move again, and hey, less than 2 months left before THE DAY is upon us!
