Rings Duo Honoured

Lord of the Rings duo Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh have been honoured by their own industry.

The pair has been awarded the Screen Producers and Directors Association of New Zealand's prestigious Onfilm Industry Champion award.

Spada chief executive Jane Wrightson said today Jackson and Walsh had helped raise the profile of the New Zealand screen industry to levels only dreamed of a decade ago.

"They have worked with passion, bloody-mindedness and sheer chutzpah to make the projects they want to make."
