Lord of the Rings Total at $94 Million

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring ruled them all at the weekend box office, drawing $66.1 million over the Friday-Tuesday period and lifting its one-week total to a whopping $94 million. In the process, it handily broke a number of December records, including single day ($18.2 million on Wednesday, 12/19), three-day opening weekend defeating Ocean's Eleven's $38.1 million bow two weekends ago, and one week gross. Rings is on track to gross over $165 million domestically by Jan. 1.
