TTT Plot Changes and Stuff
Lem
I, as well as most of us, am also awaiting Novemeber, which heralds the arrival of the extended FotR DVD.
I agree that some of the scenes in the TTT trailers were a bit confusing and foreshadowed plot changes. That would be disappointing, but not unexpected. I just hope that it's nothing TOO drastic.
Whoever it was who said that Lord of the Rings is definately an allegory is wrong. It may have Christian innuendos, but since the author was Christian, that's to be expected. But it is not an allegory. I mentioned this once before, and I'll say it again. In one of Tolkien's letters he stated firmly that he hated allegory, and that Lord of the Rings is not an allegory. There's your proof. Oh, IF Lord of the Rings was an allegory, Melkor would represent the devil more than Sauron, unless you're excluding the Silmarillion.
Tolkien was trying to create mythology for England, and borrowed ideas from other myths, but he did not (I'll say it again) write an allegory.
That's all I have to say for now.
