Special Edition DVD
Grond

All I have to say is that I'm glad we're getting the extra footage and all in November. I think it's quite generous of PJ to do this, (comparatively speaking) unlike someone else who is withholding his beloved DVD trilogy from his fans until 2006 (George Lucas). I am more angry about having purchased 4 versions of the original Star Wars trilogy once the DVDs come out. So if you all are Star Wars fans as well as LOTR fans (I'm assuming most are) I think that in comparison to GL, PJ is the more compassionate one who realizes (after all) that we pay his salary. I will gladly pay for 2 different versions of the LOTR films that have extra footage. I am greatful for the creation of the films and want them to succeed.

For those of you who aren't up to snuff on the original SW trilogy trivia - Lucas released the trilogy on VHS, then he re-released them with a sound upgrade THX version, then he released them with additional footage - all years apart so that we'd spend money on them, and like mindless drones we all purchased and re-purchased them (not to mention those who invested in the Laser-discs). He has never released them on DVD, and won't until 2006.

PJ is giving us what we want, just not quick enough.
