Religion Overboard
Elfhelm

Hey !
Just want to say that I love this chat board and love how everyone has something new to add , therefore making the books even better to me ! I am big on different views and opinions and there are certainly a lot of different views .
Just one negative comment ..... pleeease lighten the Christianity subject a bit . I don't mean to seem rude or offensive , but whether or not Tolkein's religion had an affect on LOTR , it's clear he wasn't trying to enforce his views on his readers , and some of these articles are starting to sound , well , preachy . To other Christians maybe they don't notice this , but as a non Christian believer I don't like bible quotes upon bible quotes on my beloved website ! Not saying you can't express your opinion , everyone has a right to say what they want , please just remember this is a site about Tolkeins work not a publicity for Christianity . Just for the record I am a firm believer in God but at a period of my life in which I am exploring all religions and questioning strongly my birth religion , Christianity. Keep writing intersting views everyone , there are some really great perspectives , whoever wrote that article on how elves seem based sonewhat on the French , dwarves on the Germans , and hobbits on the British , I think you are on to something . I am a history FANATIC and that is the most intersting viewpoint I've heard . Just a question to ask before I go , does anyone know and can tell me clearly what are the main differnces between Sindar and Noldar elves ? Ive been looking everywhere , and only gettig more and more confused ! Thanks !
