From Book to Film
D-Mac

Fans all over the world of the Lord of the Rings trilogy have waited for a director to take on the trilogy and do it justice once and for all. I myself thought FOTR was amazing and am eagerly awaiting TTT and ROTK. But of late talking to some people who are fans of the book have said that the FOTR was an abomination, a complete misinterpretation of Tolkiens work. To me however when I watch the movie I watch it as a movie about The Lord of the Rings the legend, the myth (so to speak) not as the movie about the book. It was obvious from the beginning that fans knew that not every aspect of the book could be translated into film it's next to impossible. I think that Peter Jackson did an incredible job and depicted the Lord of the Rings as a movie as best as he could. Accept it as it is a brilliant piece of cinema worthy of the name The Lord of the Rings.
