Legolas's Knives
Rune of Mirkwood

I am new to this forum, and have read with interest many fine points between the books and the movie in the Debate Section here! I have been extremely fond of Legolas since seeing the movie and in particular, his style of archery and the knives he carries behind his quiver of bows. In the movie, there are only two scenes that are shot very quickly where he uses them. A good friend has known of my interest of archery, the "bracers" on Legolas's arms, and the special elven knives he uses. My friend found a web-site that devotes itself to making exact replicas of all the swords, used by the characters in the movies. I contacted this website and asked about Legolas's knives (or daggers as they called them.) A nice fellow by the name of Jason answered me almost immediately and told me there are plans of making replicas of Legolas's knives sometime LATE NEXT YEAR. If you wish to check out this website, it is at Arms of Valor. Another note-worthy piece of information I would like to share with you is:
in reading a recent interview of Orlando Bloom and his training with the knives, he stated that it took him some time to learn how to "pull them out" (from over his shoulders on his back) and that the way he was trained by Mr. Anderson (Master Swordsman) is an Egyptian way of knife fighting! The picutre of sword that was depicted at the Caanes Booklet was not of Legolas's knife but was the Sword "Sting". I hope you all will find these tidbits of interest!
