September 20, 2002 A Few Responses In response to the Lady of Rohan, Legolas Greenleaf is mentioned to be in the fall of Gondolin in the Book of Lost Tales 2. That was about 4,000 years ago. In the battle in the movie, though, I zoomed in on the dvd on the elf you were thinking of, and it is NOT Legolas. It looks like some barfing red-haired elf. Don't ask me. In response to Smee and Smo, in the 1st age, the world was flat. Beyond Valinor, there was a drop. After the destruction of Numenor, Valinor was removed from the world and the world was made round. All the roads became curved. In order to get to Valinor one had to follow the "straight road," as Frodo did. And yes, Arda is the world. I hope this clears things up. |
