Laurie, if you liked the movie, the fact that you (maybe) haven't read the books, doesn't make you less fan. In that I agree with you. But if you've seen one of the movies and a trailer, and start telling everybody how you now know everything there's to know of lotr.. it's rather annoying. For example, Tolkien didn't write that Arwen saved Frodo at the ford... And it says in the credits (or somewhere) that "BASED on a novel by J. R. R. Tolkien". there it is. BASED.

And then another thing, to them who speak about tolkien's elven languages, don't forget FINNISH!! in it all words are pronounced like they are written, so it's easy to pronounce sindarin/quenya to those who can speak it. And Finnish is one of the languages that Sindarin an Quenya are based on... or so I've read and been told..
