I agree with you two [in some aspects].Had Boromir known more about the balrog he may have quailed or not. But as for Aragorn being "dumber"
NO WAY! He was raised in the house of Elrond so surely he knew what the balrog was. Back to Boromir,I think that he followed Aragorn back to the bridge out of a love for Aragorn and battle. In the apendix, Boromir was said to love battle more then most other things. Though I don't doubt that pride was a part of it too. One more thing. If Boromir had not tried to take the ring from Frodo, Frodo wouldn't have gotten "screwed up" to go and even more delay would have been caused and very possibly, Frodo could have been captured by the uruk-hai.
