September 29, 2002 Wraiths and Their Rings "...entirely enslaved to their rings, which he now himself held..." Sauron not the Nazgul kept the nine rings. The Witch King was not wearing it when he fell on the Pelennor, which is why it was not recovered. If the nazgul were wearing their rings why should they listen to Sauron? all they had to do was stay out of his way and avoid a confrontation and they could have cut out nine sizable kingdoms for themselves. No the Nazgul were no longer human, they were leashed to their respective rings and Sauron held those leashes. They were his tools and enforcers of his will. As for Sauron unlike the film he did take corporeal form. Nine fingers on his hand as Gollum said, not refering to the Nazgul. Again as Denethor said that He would not come until all was subdued, which ok i hasten to add is not proof of him taking physical form but just I have an image of an eyeball with legs and arms walkin into Minas Tirith whenever people say Sauron was just an eye. The Great Eye was his symbol, how he was mentally imprinted into the minds of his servants and enemies. As Pippin looked into the Palantir he said that "He came", not a huge red flaming eyeball, which if such was the case he would have said because its not something you could overlook, not an everyday occurance. See you all later :) |
