Re: Christian Hobbit
Member

I am a member of one of those "false religions." I am a regular poster on this forum, and visit it daily. I am what you call a Mormon by the nickname, but the true name of our Church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Just FYI, yes we are Christians, and yes we beleive in the Bible. Despite the lies you may have heard, we worship none other than Jesus Christ. I don't want to get into any philosophical, scriptural debaits with anyone becuase they never serve any purpose. Both sides just leave convinced that they are right because scripture like all writing is easy to interpet in many different ways. And besides that, this is not a place for religious debate.

My point is that Christian Hobbit should try and excercise a bit more Christian tolerance and understanding. Maybe he should listen to something that is published by someone who knows the truth about other faiths rather than beleive the stuff that is published by the critics only. I if you knew the truth about the Mormon Church you could not honestly call it a cult. I don't care if you say it is false. You are entitled to your beleifs, and your opinions, but you should also do things to find out for yourself about other beleifs and not just beleive what the first person you meet tels you. Have you ever had a sincere conversation with a Mormon? I mean a talk where you are interested not in arguing, but in understanding their beleifs. If you haven't done that, then don't be so hasty to pass judgement, and when you do pass judgement, at least be considerate of those around you.

I don't expect, nor do I want a response from anybody about this. It is not on the subject of this forum so I count myself lucky if it even gets posted. I just wanted to make the point known so some people may be more careful lest they offend in the future.

Just one piece of food for thought. I noticed the remark, to the effect that if God still did what he did in ancient times..... Well, I beleive in an unchanging God who is a God of Miracles and revelations today, just like he was in the time of the Bible. I beleive that God is the same forever. The ones who change are us. If we don't see God in our lives it is because we don't have the faith to see him. We chase God out of our lives, but He doesn't change. At least that is how I understand the scriptures that speak of an Eternal and Unchanging God that are in the Bible.
