October 2, 2002 A Thanks to Peter Jackson Even though We (the fans of Lord Of the Rings)were dissapoined with some scene and charecter cuts from book to film, we should be grateful for Peter jackson and his will to put the books to film. He took on a very complex story and had to fit it in a time frame that viewers can enjoy. Introducing a charecter in one sceen and then have him leaving in the next is very screen time consuming, and confusing. Hence why he left out Tom Bomadil,Goldberry, Glorifindel, and most of Farmer Maggot, Barrow downs, Nob, Bill Ferny, Crickhollow, The old forest, and others. these are certainly wonderful charecters and scenes but have no direct intrest in the Ring and It's journey to Mount Doom.
