Gandalf Did Jump

Well, first of all, I'm from Peru, so please excuse my english.
Ok, that said, let's go on with my theory on why I think Gandalf jumped.
As I see it The Fellowship could have saved Gandalf, but the orcs pursuing them where too near, so if anynone would have tried to save him and would have rushed to do so, the whole fellowship would have being hindered, and therefore, would have been shot by the orcs, I think that was what Gandalf thought when he was hanging on the bridge, and that is why he let himself fall.
An after he falls, and the fellowship flies, you can see many orc arrows already falling between its members, so I think that proves at least in part my theory.
