To the Christian Hobbit and His Repliers
Messenger

I have not read all your messages, but I have read quite a few.

First of all, if you have ever read the first five books of the Bible, you would know what the Christian Hobbit meant when he said, "If God did what He used to do..."

Second, although Tolkein said that his book is not a Christian allegory, there are heavy overtones in the plot that may lead to that conclusion.

Third, I believe that the Christian Hobbit referred to someone as a "Christ figure." There are several novels that use this type of symbolism. Talk to an English teacher. The character is not Jesus, just a person who makes a sacrifice for the betterment of mankind.

Finally, there is the question of false religions. Acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only way to reach heaven, there is no other. Mormons believe in Jesus but they do not believe in the Jesus of the true Bible. Other religions may demonstrate better moral, but consider the source. A true Christian is supposed to be different to act different. Perhaps if a person you know who calls themself a Christian and does not demonstrate any morals or even "good behavior" than that person is not really a Christian.

One quick note, people around the world encourage tolerance, correct? Does tolerance not include Christians as well? Before you are quick to condemn, consider the golden rule, be tolerant as you want others to be tolerant.
