Why does everything have to have proof to make it true? No matter how much people want it to be true, Merlin might not be completely true, but it is completely possible that King Arther and Excaliber really did happen, and maybe Merlin did to. Maybe all the archioligical evidence was lost at some point. This is just an example, but you said you were an archeoligist right Richard? Well you've probably heard of Queen Nefertiti who ruled Ancient Eygpt. There is no real proof to say that she lived or how she died that I've heard of and archeoligists still believe that she was a queen of Eygpt. Why is that not the same for King Arther?
