Aragorn's Age

Just how old is Aragorn? In the appendices in the Return of the King book, it says that he was born in 2931. The adventures of the Fellowship of the Ring take place in 3018 and 3019. That wound make him somewhere in his 80's. I don't know how men in Middle-Earth age, but I think its supposed to be the same way that men in Earth age, so how the heck can an 80 year old go running around trying to destroy a ring and fighting in wars. In the movie, he looks in his 30s. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
