Interesting Site
Rune of Mirkwood

I came across a website that contains information on the Elves and other subjects in the Tolkien volumes - The Encyclopedia of Arda;
very nice and detailed site where you can look up a name or subject and it will give you a history account. There is even a nice icon with a "Time Line" showing you on a scale of the four Ages. The word "Arda" means "The Realm" and the name given to Earth by the chief Valar, Manwe.

I read today on the very small paragraphs of Legolas, his father Thranduil, and I even read of his grandfather, Oropher, who died at The War of The Alliance with two-thirds of his army. How sad! King Thranduil became ruler of Mirkwook and had to actually move four times until he reached a safe haven to built an underground fortress in Mirkwood. How sad for these beautiful Sindarin Elves to have to live underneath instead of above in the woods. But, the forces of Sauron were all around with evil spreading throughout The Great Green Realm. I thought this was interesting to share with you .
