Elve's Deep
Brett C.

In case anyone was in any doubt, the Elves popping up at Helm's Deep ar a force dispatched from Lothlorien and led by Haldir. I am assuming, of course, that the toy box holding the elf archer and uruk beserker ws providing accurate information.

Personally I would rather have seen the godlen Wood fending off an attack from Dol Guldur, with some line about haw while they are diverted in Lorien they have no help to send to Frodo or the Fellowhip, but I suppose this would have needed a more elaborate explanation than the 'darkness crept back into the forests of the world' in the opening monologue. Denied Dol Guldur I would have to say theat sending the Elves to Rohan is a sensible decision on PJ's part, even though it still rankles the 'purist' in me a little, since it is a far more dramatic 'substitution' than just swapping Glorfindel for Arwen, and has far less artistic merit. One intriguing thing though - it sounds like Aragorn's line to the Elf Archers on the wall is the same as Elrond's line in the battle in Mordor - if it is it's a nice bit of continuity, considering Aragorn's upbringing.

Just read your return post, Christian Hobbit. I'm curious as to where my posting falls in your opinion. As far as the religion debate goes, I have to say it carries little interest for me any more; if others are no longer interested, just do do what I do and skip those articles.
