The Legolas Mixup
Medhros

In past articles it has been debated that
Mr. Greenleaf was present at the fall of Gondolin. This theory is very illogical[but as Lt.Spach "Humans think very illogically"]. Tolkien used several names more than once. Boromir, Thengol, Glorfindel, and Denithor are all names used more than once among Elves and Men. So it is no great wonder that the name of Legolas was used more than once.
