How Many (Really)?

Ok, I think in all fairness big bad Sauron died 4 times in all actuality. First to Luthien and her little lap dog, second during the destruction of Numenor, third at the end of the Second Age, that we see in the movie (ring gets cut off). And last but not least when the ring is destroyed and he is gone for good. Some of those may be technicalities though. Like in the Luthien incident, I think the text says something along the lines that he gave up his body and "fled" (HAHA). So does that count as a death? And if it doesn't then probably none of them would except for the last one, cause in each instance he returns.
