Bombadil and Treebeard
Renee

I also noticed that Tolkien says that both Tom Bombadil and Treebeard are both the oldest living things. I don't know if there is an answer to which one really is, but I think that probably, Bombadil is older, but maybe he wasn't actually born in middle-earth. If he's a Maia, or something like that, he probably was born or created somewhere else. So, Treebeard is the oldest living Middle-earth native, and Tom Bombadil is the oldest non-native. But I'm not quite sure. If anyone has any better ideas, please tell us.
