Saruman the Ring-maker
Elrohir

In reply to Marsh - When Gandalf later recounts his tale of captivity to the Council, he says that he "noticed that Saruman wore a ring on his finger."

Obviously, if he was wearing and did at that time appear visible, it did not have properties of invisibility. However, it could be that it was powerful enough to grant Saruman greater power than that of Gandalf, who wore the Red ring. Later, when Gandalf returned as the White, he was more powerful than Saruman, but perhaps at the time he was imprisioned, Saruman still had the upper hand.

Any more thoughts?
