To Dromio
Matt Mcnabb

First off, Aragorn is eighty-eight years old at the time of the War of the Ring. He ages slowly because he is of Numenorean descent. He is descended in direct line from Elros the brother of Elrond, the sons of Earendil. The kings of Numenor were granted extremely long life by the Valar ( Elros lived to be 500 ).

Also, Theoden is much younger than Aragorn, probably by about 20 years. In fact, Aragorn rode with the Rohirrim under the rule of Theoden's father Thengel.
