Re: Dromino's Post on Aragorn's Age
Danny

I don't understand how people interpet Arwyn's giving Aragorn her necklace as giving him her Immortality. If I am not mistaken, that is given to Aragorn at a later time in the books. I beleive that is the pendant that earns Aragorn the name Elfstone in Minas Tirith. (Correct me if I am wrong please.) Arwyn is immortal because of her elvin blood not because of some pendant. According to Tolkien elves can die of a broken heart so my understanding is that Arwyn is forsaking an immortal life because she knows that her heart will be broken by loving a mortal. So the posts have all been very good about Aragorn's age, except for the statemen that Arwyn gave her immortality to Aragorn in the movie. He doesn't need any pendant to be long lived as has been stated because of his ancestry.
