J.R.R. Tolkien and Christianity

I have sat back and watched this whole debate progress, and I just recently reread the introduction to THE FELLOWSHIP. In this introduction, Tolkien specifically says that his works and writing deal with Middle Eart ONLY! He says that many have made comparisons to different subjects (The War of the Ring: WWI; RELIGION and The characters/storyline) but he did not intend those to be there. He created his own world DIFFERENT from this world.

That's just my two cents.
